Places to Ride

The best way to figure out where to ride is to stop in and see us. We can help determine what places will be the most fun for you, and give you local knowledge on which loops and trails to hit. We also have several nice maps of the region.

Mountain Biking

Boyne Highlands - Cross country and downhill mountain bike trail network. Chair lift access in the summer.

North Country Trail - Part of a larger trail system that runs from the New York to North Dakota. We have two excellent sections in our area.
North of Petoskey - Generally well maintained trail with good elevation changes.
South of Petoskey - Minimally maintained trail, backcountry feel.

Boyne School Forest - Relatively new trail network, wide, flowy, and fast. Minimal elevation. Great for beginners.

Avalanche Park - Professionally built flow trail mixed in with older hand-built trail.

Bike Paths

NorthWestern State Trail - Mixture of paved and crushed limestone trail connecting Petoskey to Mackinaw

Little Traverse Wheelway - 26 mile paved trail linking Charlevoix, Petoskey, and Harbor Springs. Spectacular views of Lake Michigan.

M-119 Tunnel of Trees - A popular scenic highway along Lake Michigan. Part of the DAL-MAC and Zoo-De-Mac routes. Ride with caution as the road is narrow and busy in the summer months.
